The first step in producing high quality Giclee prints, is to scan the original artwork. We carry out this task on a pre-press quality flatbed scanner. The fuji Lanovia C-550 sprint is one of the finest scanners ever made, with an optical resolution of 5000dpi over the entire surface of the scanner bed.
Scanning the artwork at the correct resolution for the required output, will help to ensure that the final result is as detailed as the original. After scanning, editing and proofing have been carried out, the digital file is ready for archiving. Files are stored on 2 separate hard drives until the end of the print run. We use Canon printers to produce the fine art reproduction prints using pigment based inks. The most popular media we use is Hahnemuhle, this is an acid free, mould made cotton rag product. We also use cotton, and poly-cotton canvas.
Maximum scanning size is 90cm by 60cm and the maximum printing width is 42cm. standard size sheet media used is A4, A3, and A2.
